Building Supervisory skills 301

This course takes place in two 2-hour sessions. The first session will be on December 1st and the second on December 8th This course tackles more difficult challenges for managers and supervisors. The workshop will guide participants through concepts and tools to become more effective in their roles. This course will consist of two separate sessions on two separate days (December 1st and 8th). Each session will take place from 10:00 am to 12:00. Please commit to attend both sessions. Sessions will not be recorded.

Session One

Leading Change:

Change is inevitable in today's workplace. Organizations are challenged by the economy, new technologies, regulatory changes and new leadership. The Leading Change workshop provides supervisors and managers with tools to use as well as leading their employees through change.

Session Two

Engaging Your Employees:

Engaged employees are more productive, take accountability for their actions and position an organization to reach its goals. This session teaches managers and supervisors on what motivates employees and how to use this knowledge to create an engaged, motivated workforce.

Who Should Attend

This workshop is designed for managers and supervisors who have experience in their positions. The course provides participants with the opportunity to work through more complex problems in managing and supervising employees.

Workshop Presenter

Connie is a principle in Poulsen Management Training and Consulting, where she contracts with organizations as a professional speaker, trainer and consultant. Connie specializes in management and supervisory training. Connie enjoyed a 25-year career at Xerox Corporation. As an instructor at both Peninsula College and Olympic College, Connie develops and delivers seminars in management and supervision. Connie holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach. She also holds Marketing Management Certificates from Stanford University and Columbia University Graduate Schools of Business. She is a graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Executive Education seminar. Connie lives with her husband Soeren and their golden retrievers in Sequim, Washington.

Registration and Fees

The registration fee is $75 per person. Make checks payable to the Washington State Transit Insurance Pool.

Location and Schedule

This course will take place online using the Zoom platform. Class will run from 10 am – 12 pm both days. Students will receive the Zoom link a week prior to the start of class. Please come prepared to participate with cameras on.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your workshop registration without penalty up to Wednesday, November 10th.

Cancellations made after 11/10/2021 will be charged the full workshop fee. WSTIP may cancel the class if fewer than 12 people register for the course. If the course is cancelled, participants will receive a complete refund.
