The Dispatch Training Program modules are designed to provide consistent, fast-paced, and interactive curriculum in several key areas: verbal communications and customer service, understanding the role of dispatch in the organization, identifying and managing stress, responding to emergencies, and the principles of scheduling. Welcome to the world of Transit Dispatch! This 3-day program provides both new and veteran dispatchers with tools and best practices to ensure their success. Over the course of the program, participants learn:

·         How to become even more invested in their Dispatcher role;

·         How to manage stress more effectively;

·         Basic principles of scheduling;

·         How to enhance their verbal and written communication skills;

·         How to respond to emergencies;

·         How to ensure personnel are fit for duty; and

·         How to adapt their on-the-job training for better engagement and retention.

This course uses lecture, exercises and meaningful class discussion that enable them to return to their agencies ready to use the skills they’ve learned.

New and veteran dispatchers will both benefit from this course.

Dave Finnell is a long-time resident of Olympia, WA. He has over 20 years in employee training, starting with the United States Air Force and most recently with Intercity Transit in Thurston County. He feels strongly that employees will be able to do their best work when they feel confident. That confidence is cultivated through a commitment to their safety and security at work.

Closing the gap between training and actual work is Dave's passion. That means Dave will focus on showing your employees how they can directly apply their training to their jobs. Theories are nice, but practical measures and applicability are his focus.

The registration fee is $225 per person. The registration fee includes workshop materials, coffee, water, and snacks. Lunch will be on your own. Make checks payable to the Washington State Transit Insurance Pool.
