·         How Adults Learn

·         Establishing a Good Climate for Learning

·         Improving Delivery Skills

·         Trainer Diplomacy and Assertiveness

·         Structuring Content

·         Creating Learning Objectives

Stop 1:

You will learn to utilize and maximize learning objectives using the Operator Development Course. This course will focus on how to reach the heart and mind, while putting your training together in a coherent way.

Navigating the Turns:

Learn how to read the room, engage, inspire your audience, and to tell compelling stories that make your safety message stick.  Learn to handle negative feedback, tough questions, and tough audience members.

Staying on Route

This course is for new and seasoned trainers. WSTIP has provided your agency with numerous resources as well as the Operator Development Course as tools for you to use to cover all aspects of training.  This course aims to build on that and enhance your skills.

Arriving at your Destination

Participants will be expected to deliver a 5-minute brain-friendly lesson and develop an outline for a 1-hour training segment. You will receive a certificate of completion that indicates you have met the standards that are aligned with WSTIP’s Best Practices for Operator Training Instruction.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Those new to their role as instructors will receive a rock solid foundation to the role of trainer and be ready to take it on when they return to work. Veteran trainers will be refreshed and re-energized by the useful tips and be armed with a different communication model.
