September 2004 - Congratulations to Grays Harbor Transit for successfully completing WSTIP's Best Practices. Grays Harbor Transit, one of the founding members of WSTIP in 1989, successfully addressed the following topic areas to the satisfaction of the WSTIP Best Practices program:

• Senior leadership's active involvement in safety
  and ongoing training;
• Effective implementation of accident-prevention
  policies and procedures;
• Effective employment practices;
• Substantive training for coach operators, mechanics
  and support staff to enhance professional service
• High-quality vehicle maintenance practices.

 
WSTIP celebrated Grays Harbor's achievement by issuing a news release to their local newspaper and running print advertisement for seven days. Grays Harbor culminated their Best Practices with the implementation of an emergency management plan, training in that plan, and a drill (ran on Friday, September 24).
