This course blends the most crucial elements of the Plain Talk and Clear Business Writing Skills courses into one jam-packed day!  Get an overview of all the relevant tools and skills you need to communicate well in the workplace. Whether you write reports, letters, memos, emails, policies, or minutes – this course has something for you! 


• Use mostly short sentences.

• Choose your vocabulary based on your audience.

• Organize ideas logically for quick understanding. 

• Condense and clarify through mostly active verbs. 

• Review grammar principles that ensure clarity. 

• Put your punctuation marks in the right places.

• Edit to be precise and reader-friendly. 

• Format to put your key ideas on display.  


Anyone who struggles to write "reader-friendly" emails, letters, and reports.


Jordan Peabody is an associate with Write Words: American Writing Services. Mr. Peabody’s blend of experience in visual and written communication gives him a unique edge in the field of business writing. Jordan provides key insights in how businesses can improve their documents and presentations through clearer writing and effective use of graphic design. With an extensive background in web design, Jordan is able to give qualified advice on putting important written material online. Having worked with audiences of all ages, Peabody makes the task of writing engaging and entertaining. Mr. Peabody has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Biola University in California.


The registration fee is $75 per person. The registration fee includes workshop materials, coffee, water, and snacks. Lunch will be on your own. Make checks payable to the Washington State Transit Insurance Pool.

The class will be held at the Everett Station, 3201 Smith Avenue, Everett, WA. The workshop will begin at 8:30 am and run until 5:00 pm. Lunch will be on your own.

You may cancel your workshop registration without penalty up to Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Cancellations made after 05/09/2018 will be charged the full workshop fee. WSTIP may cancel the class if fewer than 12 people register for the course. If the course is cancelled, participants will receive a complete refund.
