This day and a half training session will equip supervisors with the skills needed to effectively manage personnel while minimizing the legal risk to your agency and/or themselves.  The laws relating to public employment have changed dramatically over the last decade and the risks associated with not complying with these laws have increased.  This training will draw on real life experiences involving transit agencies from throughout the State of Washington.

This class is specially designed for new public transit supervisors.  For experienced supervisors this class can serve as a refresher.

Sarah Hale represents employees and employers in workplace disputes, counsels management on employment law compliance, and conducts workplace investigations. In her employment practice, Sarah helps clients problem solve a wide range of legal issues, from discrimination and wrongful termination, to wage and hour issues, to disability accommodation. On behalf of public and private clients, Sarah conducts independent workplace investigations into claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, violations of state ethics laws, and other allegations .
