Managers in many organizations have not found an effective way to direct staff action through the written word. Operations manuals—if they exist at all—are likely to be obsolete, incomplete, and nearly impossible to read. This course was developed to meet such a need. It combines insights gained through 25 years of professional writing, 10 years of teaching writing for businesses and government agencies, and research into the most effective formats for writing direction. Each participant receives a copy of the book, Writing Policies, Procedures, and Task Outlines. The book includes master copies of planning worksheets that may be photocopied as needed. After completing this workshop, participants will be able to think through policies, procedures, and task outlines more effectively and to write them in words that make reading easy.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Anyone charged with writing policies, procedures, directives, and/or task outlines.
